Ben Mouton is the head of the Medical Malpractice Section
Ben joined the firm in October 2000.
The following year, he became the head of the firm’s
Medical Malpractice Section, which is responsible for a wide
range of medical negligence and nursing home liability claims
throughout the state in both state and federal courts.
He has more than 17 years of experience as
a trial attorney. During the past 6 years, Ben’s practice has
been concentrated almost exclusively on representing plaintiffs
and their families in medical negligence claims and medical
product liability claims.
He has collected millions of dollars in compensation for
his clients in medical malpractice judgments and settlements and
has returned hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Medicare
and Medicaid systems as re-payment of past medical expenses.
Ben’s interest areas are obstetrics &
gynecology, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, general surgery
and the diagnostic process.
He is a frequent lecturer to judges,
lawyers, adjusters, paralegals and legal assistants on topics
such as medical malpractice, medical records, and trial tips and
tactics.
During his legal career, Ben has donated
more than 200 hours of free legal services to people in need
through his participation in the Pro Bono Project of the Baton
Rouge Bar Association.
